6 years ago today, I moved to the UAE to teach.... 🇦🇪 Here's what I've been up to since I moved to Abu Dhabi for 2 years and lived with the most wonderful girls ❤️ (That poster was put outside our door every time someone got Covid 😅 it was very strict back then!) During the last 6 years, I've taught across 3 schools and I've taught in these year groups : - Year 1 - Year 3 - Year 4 - Year 5 I'll be back in Year 3 this year which I'm so excited for! January 2021 - I caught Covid and had to isolate in my bedroom for 10 days 😅 At the time, Abu Dhabi had a rule where you had to wear a tracker watch to make sure you were isolating. To this day, I still can't wear my Apple Watch to bed because I have PTSD from this 🫠 Jameson CONNECTS ABU DHABI July 2022 - I learned to drive and got my driving license 🚗 August 2022 - I moved into my first ever apartment! I'd never lived alone before so this was very exciting 🥳 I have travelled ✈️ Prague 🇨🇿 Qatar 🇶🇦 Kenya 🇰🇪 Barcelona 🇪🇸 Budapest 🇭🇺 Florida 🇺🇸 I changed my hair many many times 💁🏽‍♀️🥰 I have made friends for life ❤️ February 2025 - I got my first tattoo 🌷 A lily flower inspired by a lyric in my favourite song and a rose as that's my surname 🌹 I have eaten a LOT of delicious food 😋 October 2025 - I published my first children's book as it had always been a dream of mine ❤️ December 2025 - I had my first ever seizure and was diagnosed with epilepsy due to an underlying brain condition called Focal Cortical Dysplasia I'm completely fine now and it's completely manageable. It does not affect my day to day life thank god 😅 I've been seizure free since then hallelujah 🙏🏾 February 2026 - I started my Invisalign journey and it's been the BEST investment 🥰🥰🥰 And lots of trips home 🇬🇧🇦🇪 As the new academic year is about to begin, I'm so excited for what this next chapter will bring. It's my birthday at the end of this month and I'm entering the final year of my 20's! To think I made the choice to move abroad when I was just 22! I can't believe the time has gone so quickly.
