With that latest announcement regarding the straight of Hormuz, I think Iran might have just ended Trump's presidency. They've basically come out and said that if the United States does not meet their terms for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, there will be no more negotiations until 2029 when Trump's second term formerly ends. The demands are basically a complete capitulation and borderline surrender from the United States, $300 billion in compensation, the release of up to $100 billion in frozen assets, lifting of all sanctions, US troop withdrawal from the entire region, an end to the naval blockade and accepting transit fees on every ship. So essentially allowing Iran to monetize the Strait of Hormuz in perpetuity going forward. All terms that Trump is never going to be able to accept. Yeah, he's done. There is no negotiation to open the Strait of Hormuz and the best efforts of the US military is not able to open the Strait of Hormuz. Then it's just going to be stuck. Stuck closed with this war with the global economy still upended and oil prices still high in the lead up to a midterm. That's unbelievably dangerous for Trump. He risks his entire administration ground to a halt if he loses control of the House and Senate to the Democrats. And included as well is some of the biggest issues influencing the vote of the American people right now being the war with Iran, oil prices and the economy. All of those issues which are in a bad way right now are frozen until Trump's term is over. Which means he's not even going to be able to claim that he's fixing things in the lead up to midterms. And the economic pressure will cook him and the entire Republican party. Very weird to see a Middle Eastern country influencing American elections. That's not Iran for a change. Just my opinion. Iran insists Strait Will Stay Closed Until U.S. Agrees to Demands A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that talks with Oman on shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz were "separate" from discussions to fully reopen the waterway. Because if the tie situation in the Strait of Hormuz continues like this, oil prices will not go down, which means cost of living for Americans will still stay high. Trump won't be able to do anything about it. And the economic pressure will cook him and the entire Republican party. Very weird to see a Middle Eastern country influencing American elections. That's not Iran for a change. Just my opinion.
