GARAGE UPGRADES EVERYONE NEEDS

Now, the only problem with using this foam is that you do create gaps above and below that need to be filled. Enter canned spray foam insulation. I can spray a bead on the top and bottom before pressing in my foam panel. This is more than enough tension to keep the foam in place, but I do have to admit, although this system out performs the others in testing, I really don't think it's the best choice. If I did this again, I would just use the fiberglass batts because the install is way cleaner and way easier with only a very minor performance hit. The spray foam made a little bit of a mess and pink really isn't my color. But once the foam dries, any excess can be broken off. And it's fairly clean, but again, just pay a little bit more money and buy the fiberglass rolls and it will look way better and way cleaner. Right idea, but wrong product in my opinion. Oh, and here's a bonus upgrade. If you use a track saw, install these guide rail holders on your door. Locking clips hold them in place even when your door moves up and down. It's the perfect way to store a large, an otherwise unusable spot. Let the garage door properly sealed and insulated. The garage is gonna have an easier time of controlling its temperature. Most basic garage doors come with these metal rollers that are very loud, rough, and will wear out over time. So let's fix that. Admittedly, I should have replaced these rollers when I had the hinges off previously, but no problem to go back. This is what the metal roller sounds like. And I'm upgrading to these sealed nylon rollers and the installation is as easy as removing the old roller and sliding in the new one. This is what the new roller sounds like. It might seem minimal, but when you have all 10 of the rollers on the door slightly quieter and smoother, that's up to a really big difference. But when you tackle these garage upgrades, save yourself some time by doing the hinges and the rollers at the same time. Between the new rollers and everything else we've done, this garage door is already operating way better. But to really get this door operating at its best, there's one last maintenance step that we need to tackle and that's proper lubrication. A lot of garages get noisy simply because the moving parts dry out over time. So next, I'm lubricating the tracks, hinges, and all the key contact points to keep everything running quietly and smoothly. Don't go crazy. Just a light mist in the areas of movement and you will notice way better operation. Oh, and don't forget to spray down the track too.
