Stop confusing weight loss with fat loss. One of the biggest mistakes that I made when I was starting off in the gym was thinking that just because the scale was going down meant that I was getting leaner. That is not the case. Weight loss just means that your total body weight went down. This can come from fat, water, glycogen, or even less food sitting in your system. Fat loss means reducing your body fat while trying to maintain as much muscle as possible. That is not the case. That is not what's going to happen by you dropping the number on the scale. Muscle weighs so much more than fat. So obviously, the scale is going to be higher. Sometimes putting on weight is necessary, especially if you have not bulked. You should not be cutting. The only way that you're going to see lean muscle when you come down in weight is if you've taken that time period to bulk and actually build the muscle under. This is what a lot of people neglect in their fitness journey because they just want to go straight into the cut. That's not going to work. Even if you're increasing your calories at first, you can still be losing weight. That's what happened to me when I originally switched to prioritizing whole foods and eating more food when I was eating healthier and eating more food, I ended up losing weight because I was fueling my body properly. More food doesn't mean that you're going to get fat. It's necessary to build that muscle before you can come down in size. Otherwise, you're going to have this feeling of, I can't get rid of that last little piece of fat. I really hope that this helps you guys. I wish I would have known this when I was starting off and if this can help anyone, that's my goal. I love you guys and I hope you have a great lift today. I will talk to you soon.
