Welcome day two of trading day camp where I teach you how to trade futures in under 3 minutes. So if you did your homework yesterday, you should already have an account with trading view as well as signed up for your broker either Ninja Trader or Trade OBA. Today I'll be discussing what tickers to trade, what are micros versus minis, and what margin requirements are. We have a lot to cover in 3 minutes, so pay attention. There are hundreds, probably even thousands of potential assets that you can trade in the futures market. You can trade corn, you can trade gold, silver, oil, all the things. I do want to give you just a short list of the most popular, see trading, the S&P 500, which is MES. There is the Nasdaq 100, which is NQ. Russell's 2000, which is M2K. There which is Gold, which is GC. There which is oil, which is MCL. The reason all those tickers have an M in front of it is because they are the micro version of the larger asset. So anytime you see an M in front of a ticker symbol, it is most likely a micro, highly recommend trading the micros if you are a beginner futures and trader. You make money on points. The ticker that your ticker moves. The point value on a mini contract is worth 10 times as much as the point value on a micro contract. Pay. Know word micro, mini, small, that micros. We trading. Micro example points which MES, micro S&P 500, you make $5 per point that MES moves. Direction. That means if MES moves 20 directions, you will make $100. $5 times 20 points equals $100. On ES, that is larger than the micro version of that. I know it sounds stupid when you say it. Mini is larger than micro. Market. With ES, no just ES. Get $50 per point that ES moves. Direction. That means if ES moves 10 points, you will make $500. $50 times 10 points equals $500. So will use that same example for MES. Have of points. Remember $5 point. If you have a 20 point move in your direction, you will make $100. Means will total $500. Two. Have margin requirement. Teach futures. Personal which using or funded accounts here. Margin. Minimum. Of. Need. Account. Not. Your. Order. Position. In. Market. Your margin requirement is the minimum amount of money that you need in your account, not including your stop loss in order to enter a position in the market. So if you have an example from earlier where you had a 10 point stop would $50 as your stop loss because remember, MES has a $5 per point value. That is $50 right here. That is our stop loss. MES also has that $50 margin requirement. Those is $100. Bare minimum that you need to open a position with MES, M2K would be $100. Please do trade bare minimum you need in your account because if anything wrong, stop goes 10 cents below that requirement. Margin. Your margin call. Immediately closed. Lose. Amount. Of. Camp.
