The puppy teething phase is essentially living with a tiny, fluffy land shark who thinks your baseboards, furniture, and ankles are part of an all-you-can-eat buffet. 🦈🪵 When Zuri started losing her baby teeth, her drive to chew spiked to a level 10. Instead of losing our minds, we had to get strategic with how we managed her sore gums. Here are the exact tips that got us through the worst of the teething chaos: Frozen Carrots: A frozen carrot is a total game-changer. It soothes inflamed gums with the cold, gives them a safe crunch, and acts as a healthy edible chew. 🥕🧊 Frozen Watermelon Bites: Hydrating, soothing, and super gentle on sore gums. We freeze small, seedless pieces for a sweet cooling treat when the teething pain peaks. 🍉❄️ Plain Ice Cubes: Simple, zero-calorie, and insanely effective. Plain ice cubes (or frozen bone broth cubes) offer instant numbing relief and double as a fun, crunchy game across the floor. 🧊🐾 Skip the Frozen Towels/Rags: We deliberately avoided using frozen washcloths or soft items. Introducing fabric as a chew toy can accidentally teach a puppy that chewing on blankets, rugs, and clothes is totally fine! 🛑🛏️ Trade, Don't Just Say "No": Chewing is a physical need during this phase, not bad behavior. When she goes for a furniture leg, immediately swap it out for an approved cold toy or chew. 🧸🔄 Enforced Naps Are Essential: Overtired puppies chew significantly worse because their self-control plummets. When the biting gets frantic, it usually means it’s time for quiet crate decompression. 💤😴 It feels endless while you're in the middle of it, but it does get better once those razor-sharp teeth fall out!
