People who can sob at a movie but stay dry-eyed about their own life are often in a freeze trauma response, and most people don't even realize it. Hear me out. Your nervous system learned that your feelings were too much for the room. So it built a brilliant strategy: close the door on yours, and leave it open for everybody else's. You're not cold. You cry at the film because that grief belongs to a stranger, and other people's grief was always allowed in your house. Yours was the one that caused problems. And that's why telling yourself to open up does nothing. Have you ever given a friend advice that you would never in a million years take yourself? And you meant every word of it? You can see it clearly when it's theirs. That's the same reason the movie gets your tears and your own life doesn't. So you cry at a commercial about a dog and feel nothing at the funeral, and then you lie awake wondering what's wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you. You can understand this perfectly and still feel nothing at the thing that actually hurt. We're all wounded children living inside adult bodies, walking each other home. Let's become the first emotionally free generation in our families! #innerchildhealing #emotionaldna #anxietyrelief #healingtiktok #HealingJourney
