5 values from my strict Muslim upbringing that I’ll be passing on to my children 👯‍♀️ 1. Honesty: taught me to always be truthful, even when it’s uncomfortable. 2. No deception or trickery: taught me to value sincerity and never intentionally mislead people. 3. Keeping my word: taught me integrity, accountability and the importance of following through. And to never talk shit! 😅 4. Respecting how people want to be addressed: taught me to be mindful of how my words can affect others and where the line can be crossed into bullying. 5. No TV: made me efficient, hardworking and extremely conscious of how I spend my time. It also taught me to value my time and be intentional about where I put my energy. Music: my kids do listen to music. I don’t allow pop music, songs with vulgar lyrics, or music channels and specialised clips where the themes are generally centred around swearing, disrespect, sex and the objectification of women. Little Berra didn’t understand the wisdom behind these Islamic values, but adult Berra definitely does. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. #islam #religion #mumsoftiktok #hijab #fyp
