What's brain matter made of? So brain matter is actually 60% fat, so it makes it the fattiest organ in our body. And the other 40% of brain is water, protein and salts. But, you know, the brain has two parts. It has gray matter and white matter. Gray matter is for processing thoughts and the white matter is for transmitting the signals. And when they call it gray matter, like at surgery when you're operating, is it actually a different color? It is. It's more gray. So gray matter has more cell bodies and um, it is more gray in color. And then the white matter is more pale white and that's has the fibers that transmit the signals. Is it different cutting between the two types or is it the same? I think the texture is pretty much the same. It's hard to tell the difference.
