I moved into my own house that I built last year and I started building at the age of 26. And whenever I tell people that I started building immediately after I hit rock bottom, they joke about my brand of rock bottom because if your rock bottom has you building 3 houses, which I did, is it even rock bottom at all? And to that I say, as somebody that has experienced rock bottom a couple of times, where's my incense has been through rock bottom. And back a couple of times. I kind of pride myself on being an expert on rock bottom. I don't know if it's my 8th house placement, but I do know that it's manifestation because I don't see rock. I've been in rock bottom enough times to know that rock bottom is actually a trampoline. Rock bottom is where you, is when you descend. If you think about the myth of Inanna and a lot of other gods and goddesses, other pantheons of goddesses and gods, especially the ones that are known for descending into the underworld. So think about Hekate, think about Inanna, think about Osoronga, the Yoruba Osoronga. When you think about that archetype, there is always a process of descent where they go and confront the underworld. And I want to believe that for human beings, that is our own. Rock bottom is our version of the descent. It's when life forces you to confront the reality. You're in so you know whether this is really for you or not. Because one thing I've realized is if you are on the right track and you're on the reality that is meant for you, you would not hit rock bottom. So rock bottom is usually a sign that something is misaligned. And when that is the case, life will push you, life will ask you, is this really who you want to be? Is this really the reality you want for yourself? Is this really the life you want to live? And that is when rock bottom happens and building a house in my 20s and living here, it's probably one of the best things I've done for my nervous system in forever. It's like when you grow up in a dysfunctional household, building a house for yourself is literally giving yourself a foundation that nobody gave you, giving yourself the a house that nobody can take away from you, a house that nobody can just scream in the morning and tell you to wake up. A lot of us Nigerians grew up in very dysfunctional households. I mean the system is dysfunctional, so of course the households are dysfunctional. But there's something about having your own home. It cannot enter that just genuinely allows your nervous system to have a place of rest, somewhere to start from, somewhere to build from. So as somebody that's manifested from rock bottom a couple of times, I can tell you for a fact that rock bottom is a trampoline. Rock bottom and it's not some, what do you call it, inspirational bullshit, trying to bullshit you and tell you that, be inspired, you've got this. There is an actual methodology to it. Rock bottom is a trampoline.
