Easy Tomato Sauce 5 tomatoes (Roma tomatoes are highly recommended) 1/2 white onion 2 garlic cloves 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 big basil leaf 2 tsp salt Black pepper Chili flakes - Mark a little X on the bottom of each tomato, not cutting all the way through - Place tomatoes in boiling water for 25 seconds - Remove and immediately place in an ice bath for 25 seconds - Peel skins off - Roughly chip tomatoes, onion, & garlic - Cook onions and garlic in a pot with evoo & 1 tsp salt - Add in tomatoes, 1 tsp salt and basil, cook with the lid on for 5-10 minutes, until all soft and broken down - Blend until smooth #food #sauce #tomato #fyp
