a genuinely life changing piece of advice for me was learning how to introduce myself. I once went to this creator event and my mind you, I only have 64 followers so I don't know how I was let in. And everyone was going around introducing themselves, talking about the type of content that they made, the type of companies that they worked with. And when it came to me, I started introducing myself saying, hi, I'm Brandon. I'm actually not a creator, but I just work in tech and I make some videos on the side. And one of these people actually stopped me and was like, you're not supposed to introduce yourself like that. And I was a little confused because I was like, well, I'm not a big creator, so I'm not going to introduce myself like that. And he was like, actually, many of us work day jobs and just don't talk about it at these types of events. And as Asian Americans too, we were kind of taught, don't talk about the thing that you're doing unless you actually accomplish it and you have the stats to back it up. But what I learned though is that opportunities really do come better when you introduce yourself as the person that you are becoming and pretend as though that version of you has already arrived. But yeah, that's my little story. Hope this helped.
