I had the privilege of growing up very emotionally regulated because of my therapist mother. So these are all the values that my therapist mom taught me. 1. "what can you control?" This question is literally that mantra that I have repeating in the back of my head all the time, no matter how stressful a situation is. Someone's trying to do you dirty. Someone's trying to do you dirty. You know, you can walk away from a situation that is no longer serving you. 2. no negative self talk I grew up learning a lot about the power of the tongue. In this world, no one's gonna have your back more than yourself. So why talk down on yourself, even in a joking manner or shoot yourself down when you're supposed to be your biggest supporter? 3. if you don't want it to have control over you, it already does Growing up, I didn't want people to have power over myself, whether that's one upping me in my education or accomplishments. Being so scared through the lens of comparison detracts from being able to operate that best version that you can be. 4. people you love (and hate) are mirrors Lastly, the ones you love are mirrors. You search for other people, friendships, relationships because of the way you see yourself. That's why you need to choose your friends wisely and not get stuck with a group of people projecting insecurities onto another. Hope this helps and let me know if you guys want more rules
