I think a lot of us tend to overcomplicate the idea of making conversation or talking to someone new a lot in our heads. Honestly all you have to do is three things. 1. Ask questions. Be very curious about what they're doing. So what I always do is I start by asking anyone three questions to break the ice. What brought you to [event]? Where are you from? What's something you're looking forward to this week/what're the rest of your plans? And through that I'm able to find out so much information about them. 2. Look for similarities. I'm able to figure out similarities that we have, so it creates a lot of really good conversation. The last thing that's really impactful is if you have the ability to be vulnerable and be honest about yourself because it really helps the other person go deeper and also be vulnerable too. For example, if both of you guys don't know anyone at the party, you could say something like, oh my god, I was so nervous walking in. Thank god I was able to find someone to talk to. And just that small amount of vulnerability makes it really easy for the other person to open up to. So those are the three things I usually do in order to have a really good conversation. And honestly, it gets better with practice. It's made me a much better conversationalist and a lot more charismatic. So hopefully that helps. Follow for more!
