I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's back in April and the first thing my doctor did was put me on Levothyroxine. Now the thing about Levothyroxine is that it's literally just synthetic T4 pumping into your system and it's up to your body to convert that T4 into T3, which is the active thyroid hormone, that's responsible for regulating your digestive system, your mood, your brain function, your energy, everything. So we need it. So I was on it for six weeks, got my numbers checked, they didn't change at all after the six weeks. So I've taken Levo out. So my doctor increased my dose, she actually doubled it and then I got my numbers checked again six weeks later. My TSH improved, my T3 actually got worse. That's just like a clear sign that my body is not converting that T4 into T3. So I'm now working with a new doctor. She immediately took me off the Levothyroxine and she just started me on Armour. And the difference with Armour is that it's not only T4 but it also contains some of that T3 active hormone. So I'm really hoping that my body is responding better to this medication, but I've only been on it for about three days and the only thing I can say is that I'm exhausted. Like more so than normal. I literally just got off my couch because I felt so tired and I've been walking for five minutes and I'm so out of breath, which is weird for me. So let me know in the comments if you guys have any experience with Armour or anything that I should watch out for or monitor.
