The amount of relationships I consciously or subconsciously torpedoed over the years just because I was “bored” 🙈 Don’t get me wrong, there’s a BIG difference between ignoring red flags or obvious incompatibility from the start, and having a green-flag relationship with all the sparks in the beginning, only to want to end things when they start to feel a bit… boring. ADHD brains can find novelty, anticipation and that early-stage intensity especially rewarding. When a relationship becomes familiar and predictable, that stimulation naturally drops — and sometimes that shift can feel like losing feelings, when really you’re just no longer getting the same dopamine hit from the novelty of it all. The real maturing is recognising that the dopamine drop doesn’t necessarily mean the relationship is over. Sometimes you’ve just reached the stage where love becomes less novelty-driven and more intentional and you have to learn how to create novelty, excitement, attraction and new experiences within the relationship instead of chasing them in someone new. Basically: learning the difference between being bored of the relationship and your brain being bored of the familiarity 😅 #dopamine #sparks #greenflag #longtermrelationship
