Did you know that the government is currently looking at 7 major changes to the motorcycle licensing system? If not, here's the list. No. 1 is the government's looking to close down the loophole where if you pass your CBT on an automatic, then you can go learn the gears later by yourself. What they're looking to change is when you pass on an automatic, you're then stuck on an automatic. So if you want to learn gears, you must complete your CBT course with a geared bike item. Item number 2 is theory before CBT. The government is looking to introduce a theory test before the CBT, or at least an online training course. Which I personally think is a good thing. I think everyone should need to learn the highway code before they go on this training course. However, the opposite end means that we can get rid of element D during the CBT, which is your theory if you, it's your highway code knowledge that we go through. If we get rid of that, it means more time on the bike. No. 3 is progression without test. Now this is something I'm sure everyone will be really interested in. And this means that you'll be able to progress from an A1 to an A2 or an A2 to a full A licence without actually having to set another mod 1 or mod 2. You would go to an approved training body school and they would be able to take you through a set syllabus course, like a CBT, almost. And once you've completed that course, you would get an upgrade. Now, before we go through the rest of them, if you're interested in motorcycles, you want to get a motorcycle licence, or you're just interested in general chat about motorbikes, give me a follow. I'm trying my best to get to 20,000 followers before the end of the month. Help me out. No. 4 is filtering during a CBT. Now, this one I've always found a wee bit mad. Why are we not taught how to filter when it's something that we can do? Let's be honest, one of the reasons why we get bikes is so that we don't have to sit in traffic and we can filter through on our commute to work. So why not teach it beforehand? I think this one's gonna be good. No. 5 won't effectively directly affect you, um, but it will affect the industry, and that's the motorcycle instructors. To get fully qualified, don't have to do all the tests that they currently do, which means the instruction qualification process will be shorter, which means more instructors and you don't need to wait as long for a CBT or to get through your lessons. No. 6 ties into No. 2. With the theory test coming, we're potentially gonna get rid of element D. That then means that you can spend more time on the bike. So they're looking at extending the minimum CBT time from 2 hours just a road ride to 2.5 or 3 hours. And hopefully that includes different types of roads as well. And finally No. 7, we're looking at adding in digital CBT certificates. No longer will you have to hunt the house on the morning of the mod 1 cause you can't remember that safe place that you kept it. It also means that if the police do pull you over for any reason, you don't need to bring the certificate to the police station. It will already be online. So what do you think?
