My base salary is $163,000. That's $163,000 as a 32-year-old living in New York City. And I just got my budget my paycheck and see if I have any money left over. My gross pay for two weeks from my employer came to $6,833. But this month we actually had some extra income from TikTok. For TikTok views alone, I was paid $800. And for a brand deal that I completed last month, which I was finally paid, I was paid $900. But of course, that's just gross. Now let's go through all the deductions to see what's actually left over because I'm sure it's going to be a much, much smaller number. All my pre-tax deductions came to $1,057. And these are things like 401k, HSA and dental. After that, we have to start paying taxes, and it is a lot. First, $2,022 comes out directly from my employer paycheck. But we are not done yet because we have to pay taxes on all that extra income. I put aside $510 into my SoFi high yield savings account in order to pay taxes on that later. And of course, I linked it at the top of my page if you want to check it out. We are left with $4,926 to go and invest and pay off bills. The first thing that I do is then transfer $1,000 to my Fidelity brokerage account to then invest in QQQ and Bitcoin. After that, we just have to pay off my portion of the mortgage, which is $2,250. That means after all bills paid and investments, I am left with $1,676, whatever I can do whatever I want with.
