Pay day routine. $184,000. And it's payday, so here's how I budget my paycheck as a high earning 37-year-old working in strategy based in Houston, Texas. Today's gross pay is at $7,663. After $142 to my HSA, $920 to my 401k, $47 to my health insurance, $11 to my dental insurance, and $1,629 to taxes, I'm left with a net pay of $4,914. The first thing I do is set aside one half of my mortgage payment that will be paid on the first, which is about $1,600. Next, I set aside about $200 for half of my monthly bills. I have a goal to invest $100,000 this year, so I immediately transfer $1,250 to my Vanguard brokerage account. I also purchase $250 in Bitcoin. Then I transfer $855 to my sinking funds for travel, paying income taxes, and fun personal spending. This leaves about $759 for the next two weeks for groceries and any miscellaneous spending.
