Neutrogena Gets Major Backlash After Hayden Panettiere Passing

Original caption

Neutrogena is facing major backlash after Hayden Panettiere’s comments about the brand allegedly wanting to drop her after she opened up about postpartum depression resurfaced. Now people are flooding the brand’s comment sections, and honestly, I understand the outrage. A company that markets primarily to women should understand and support the very real struggles women face. 💔 #HaydenPanettiere #Neutrogena #PostpartumDepression #PopCulture #CelebrityNews

So, Nutragina is getting canceled after fans found out what they did to Hayden Panatheer, following the heartbreaking news of her death at just 36 years old and old clip has resurfaced of Hayden explaining what she said happened between her and Nutragina, a brand she worked with for around a decade. Hayden gave birth to her daughter Kaya in 2014 and later struggled with post-partum depression. But when she first publicly opened up about it, she wasn't even planning to. During a 2015 appearance on life with Kelly and Michael, the came up unexpectedly and Hayden decided to be honest about what she was experiencing. According to Hayden, she later received a call saying Nutrogino wanted to fire her because she had discussed posthumous depression. Her representative reportedly pushed back. So she remained with the company that year, but Hayden said she knew the relationship was basically over. She wasn't brought back the following year. A 10-year relationship marred just like that. Watching Hayden and those Nutrogino ads was honestly so a millennial core. She became one of the people immediately associated with the brand during the 2000s and 2000s, which makes this even more disappointing. Now, people are flooding nuclear comment sections with criticism and I can see why? Because how are you a beauty company whose products are predominantly marketed towards women, but allegedly have an issue with one of your long-time female ambassadors speaking honestly about something so many women experience. That's what gets me about some of these companies. They love selling women's self care, competence, and empowerment when there's a product attached to it. But when a woman talks about an experience that isn't pretty, polished or marketable, suddenly it's a problem. You can't sell women's self care and then allegedly punish a woman for actually taking care of herself. Hayden later made it clear that she didn't regret speaking out and she shouldn't have. If anything, this situation shows exactly why women speaking openly about postpartum depression was and still is so important.
