Welcome back to our kitchen renovation, you guys. We're at the finish line. After staining countertops, it's time to seal the edges by the sink. Since this is a 1940s kitchen, there are some weird dimensions on either side of our stove. One of our biggest challenges has been how to fill these gaps. Luckily, Cody is a Virgo and is always thinking about the way in which something should be done. So he took some extra butcher block and cut it to size and inlayed these super strong magnets since our cabinets are steel. They can literally attach and pull out if we need to clean next to the stove. How cool is that? Absolutely crushed this. So y'all, after many, many months of working on this project, it was finally time to add our finishing touches. Lamps, cookbooks, vintage nicknacks. We arrived. Even though this kitchen embraces the vintage charm, to us it feels state of the art. These are the nicest appliances we've ever owned. The colors and materials are exactly what we pictured in here. Seriously, we lucked out with the gorgeous tile and we feel so lucky that we get to call this kitchen ours. We're so proud that we transformed this space on our own, maybe our most impressive DIY yet from start to finish. We hope we can inspire some folks to restore their old kitchens too because they are truly so special.
