Before we get into it, I just wanna say a few disclaimers. So Mooncat is a luxury price point, $16 to $18 per bottle. That's a lot. And because of this, I have high expectations for them. They have to meet a certain threshold for me.
Two things that I find kind of gimmicky in nail polish that are in this collection. One is glow in the dark. That's not that I hate it, it's fun if I'm like looking at my nails before I'm going to sleep, but that's really it. So if I'm gonna buy a glow in the dark polish, it has to really impress me in the regular state.
Second thing that I find a little gimmicky is reflective glitter. Again, when I'm looking at my nails with the phone flash on, not really, unless I'm like actively taking a video of it. So I'm not gonna buy this because I already own Emily de Molly's Sunset Over the Bay, which is an indie polish cult favorite and to be honest, looks just like this.
Next we have Kattermanjaro. This is a hot pink glow in the dark. This is what it looks like in the dark. This is what it looks like in the dark. So this one is a little unimpressive for me. Not super blown away by just a hot pink, not gonna pay $16 to $18 for a hot pink. So I would skip this one.
Next we have Blueberry's Jam. This is super cool. I love the maximalism of this polish, but I already own Emily de Molly's Once Forgotten and that is super similar to this. It has blue flakes and black base, hot pink magnetic shimmer, just like this polish does. It looks like it has multicolored glitter in this hot pink magnetic shimmer, which is so good. I will be purchasing this one.
Light of Your Ninth Life. Last but not least, Light of Your Ninth Life. This is another glow in the dark. This one glows orange, which is pretty cool. But I'm not really a warm tone lover. Yellows and oranges are not really for me. This would be really cute for Halloween to do like a Jack o'lantern nail art type vibe. I love the greenish yellow shimmer in this, but I've been eyeing another one that's $12 compared to this price. So it's not glow in the dark. So I don't need glow in the dark. So I will skip this one.
And then we have Litterbox, which is a pink glitter polish. I have Minchi the Cat already from Holo Taco, which is very similar to this. It's a pink glitter polish. I don't reach for it that much. So I won't be buying this because I already have two lilac glitter polishes from Holo Taco, which is very similar to this. It's a pink glitter polish. I don't reach for it that much. Swim, My Dolphins. This is gorgeous. The sunlight picture that they posted of this one is breathtaking. I love the deep indigo shift that this has. It looks so incredibly. This will be going in my cart. Yes.
And then we have The Zoomies, which is another glow in the dark. This is what it looks like in the dark. This is what it looks like in the dark. This color is really cool. Very like alien sci-fi vibes. Um, I'm not, I'm on the fence about this one. I really love this shade, but I'm not sure how much wear I would get out of it. So I'm gonna wait to see pictures of other people wearing it before I make a final decision. But I like it.
Electromagnetic Furball. And then we have my favorite from the collection. This is Electromagnetic Furball. Now this is amazing. It is so maximalist again, and it's very unique too. Like I've never seen anything quite like this. It also looks like it has multicolored glitter in this hot pink magnetic shimmer, which is so good. I will be purchasing this one as well.
Light of Your Ninth Life. Last but not least, Light of Your Ninth Life. This is another glow in the dark. This one glows orange, which is pretty cool. But I'm not really a warm tone lover.
