Our 50 amp RV power cord started MELTING — and thankfully, we caught it before it became an electrical fire. 😳 We started smelling something that didn’t seem right, so we immediately started checking everything. Luckily, we caught it early, turned the breaker off, and unplugged the RV. Our 50 amp cord was smoking, and both the cord and the receptacle had melted. Seeing that was terrifying, especially with our baby sleeping in the room nearby. We were honestly shaken. This was a huge reminder that RV electrical safety is something you simply can’t take lightly. If you ever smell something burning or notice heat, discoloration, melting, or anything unusual around your RV power connection, stop and check it.
