I'm naturally frugal but do not mistake me for broke. Frugal NOT Broke. We got married young but by staying intentionally frugal we completely paid off our mortgage in 7 years all while raising two kids. It was never about hoarding money, it was about buying back our freedom and time. We wanted to actually be present with each other and watch our kids grow up rather than working constantly to afford a life we were too busy to enjoy. Now we're mortgage free for about 10 years. I will choose a simple frugal free time over endless working extra hours just I don't need. What's something you would do right away if you were financially free?
