It's time to take a look at another budget of someone who wants to pay off their debt while still saving money and enjoying life. And as always, you can grab my budget dashboard on my website at the link in my bio. This person brings home $4,400 every month and they live alone and they pay $1,400 in rent, $80 for their cell phone, $70 for internet, $215 for utilities, $95 for car insurance and $50 for subscriptions. And their total fixed expenses comes to $1,910. For their variable expenses, they budget $400 for groceries, $150 for household needs, $200 for fuel, $150 for other needs, and $150 for other wants. And they also want to start saving $300 a month in their sinking fund. This leaves them with an extra $265 left over at the end of the month. Let's move over to the debt payoff calculator. This is like a debt avalanche debt snowball calculator except you pick the order of which debts get paid off and it does all the math for you. When it's calculated, the first item has been paid off, then it moves its minimum payment to the second item, and then it calculates the second item, then it moves its minimum payment to the third item and so on until all debts have been paid off. Using this method with no additional $265 monthly payment, it's going to take them almost six years and cost them over $5,200 in interest. Plus their credit cards and affirm loans are paid off in about a year and a half. And they save over $5,200 in interest. Their credit cards and affirm loans are paid off in about a year and a half.
