budget with me $75,000 salary with $38k+ debt Let's take a look at another budget of somebody who wants to pay off their debt while still being able to save money and enjoy life. And as always, you can grab the budget dashboard that I use in this video on my website, linked in my bio. This person brings home roughly $4,600 a month. They live alone and their rent is $1,300 a month. All of their fixed expenses come to $1,920 a month. For their debt, they have three credit cards with balances, a car loan and student loans. Their total minimum payments come to $955 a month. For variable expenses, we're going to budget $400 a month for groceries, $150 for household needs, $200 for fuel, $150 for other needs and $150 for other wants. This leaves them with $275 left over at the end of the month. When this little guy calculates that the first item on your list has been paid off, it takes that minimum payment and adds it to the second item on your list. When it calculates the first two items are paid off, it adds their minimum payments to the third and so on until every item on your list has been paid off. With this method, and no additional payments, they get this paid off in over four years and cost them over $3,500 in interest. Plus, they'll have all their credit cards paid off in a year and a half and their car will be paid off in two years. The debt payoff calculator.
