Sometimes the cries are soft and quiet. The tears seem to just barely leak out of your eyes and your breath gets shorter. It’s a soft sadness where you aren’t able to fully release the pain but can’t hold it in all the way. I find myself most vulnerable to my grief in the car. It’s the place my mind wanders the most. But I don’t fight the grief like I used to. I sit with it. And give it the space it needs. In some ways, I hope my grief never goes away. It’s a reminder of the things I’ve lost and the ways that my life has changed. It allows me to open my heart to joy. And even though the grief itself comes from loss, what’s it’s allowed me to gain in perspective will always be a gift. Love yall! #grief #loss #cancer #tonguecancer #cancersurvivor
