5 things to do if you're trying to become fluent in italian (from a polyglot) 1. listening to italian music (make vocab lists from the lyrics !! that's what helped me learn 5K words in 2 months) Listening to music will expose your brain to the language. It's so useful for the accent, the vocabulary, everything really. It is such an underrated way of learning a new language. I don't know why people don't talk about it. 2. set your phone & tiktok to italian Put your phone in italian so that you can learn or whatever language you're trying to learn. When I say your phone, I also mean your social media. So put TikTok in italian so that you can have a fully italian feed page. And that's what I did. It really helped me so so much. Also because like on TikTok, they're often subtitles. So you can get to listen to italian and read the subtitles in your native language. So it's really useful. 3. delete language apps & download Sylvi Delete any language app that you may be using. And if you want to use a language app to learn italian, I definitely recommend Sylvi because it will make you practice every day. Real life conversations with pen pals. So it's basically like talking to an italian person every day. Practicing with locals. 4. SPEAK as much as you can Speak. Speak all the time. When you're home in a room alone, speak to yourself in italian. That's what I did. It really, really helped me with my accent. Also feeling more fluent in italian because I had already practiced in my room before. So whenever I had to speak to an italian person, I had already had practice in my room before. So yeah, speak. A language is meant to be spoken, okay? It's meant to be practiced. So if you don't have anyone to speak to, again, you can use Sylvi and talk to the pen pals and you can just talk to yourself. So yeah, trust me on this advice because I speak four languages, three of which I learned on my own in only a couple months. Trust.
