Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies with Vanilla Ice cream 🍪 Makes 8 large, thin & chewy cookies 🥹❤️ Ingredients * 113 g (½ cup) unsalted butter * 100 g (½ cup packed) brown sugar * 50 g (¼ cup) granulated sugar * 1 large egg, egg yolk * 1 tsp vanilla extract * 165 g (1¼ cups) all-purpose flour * ½ tsp baking soda * ¼ tsp salt * 180 g (1 cup) chocolate chips or chocolate chunks * Flaky sea salt, for topping (optional) * Vanilla ice cream, for serving Instructions 1. Brown the butter: Add the butter to a saucepan over medium heat. Let it melt, then continue cooking, stirring frequently, until it becomes golden brown and smells nutty and caramel-like. Small brown bits should form at the bottom. 2. Remove the butter from the heat and let it cool for about 10–15 minutes. You want it warm, but not hot. 3. In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, granulated sugar and browned butter until smooth and glossy. 4. Add the egg and egg yolk and vanilla extract and whisk until well combined. 5. Add the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix. 6. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks. 7. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball. 8. Place the dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving plenty of space between them. Flatten each ball to about 1–1½ cm (½ inch) thick with your fingers. This will give you the thin, wide cookie like in your picture. 9. Bake at 175°C / 350°F for 9–11 minutes. The edges should be lightly golden, while the centers should still look soft and slightly underbaked. 10. Immediately after baking, press a few extra chocolate chips on top. 11. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5–10 minutes. They will firm up slightly while staying soft and chewy in the center. Scoop vanilla ice cream into a small bowl and place one warm chocolate chip cookie directly on top.🍨 #chocolatechipcookie #icecream #Recipe #baking #viralfood
