Stop telling your kid to “squish the bug.” ❌ When you tell a young hitter to rotate by squishing an imaginary bug with their back foot, you’re teaching them to spin off the ball, lose power, and completely disconnect from the ground. Here is what’s actually happening: spinning that back foot forces the player to pull themselves out of the ground. They lose leverage, clear their front side too early, and trade explosive power for a weak wrist-flick.👀 Do this instead: Drive the back hip and sink the back knee toward the ground while staying anchored. Anchor the back heel: Force force into the turf, don’t spin out of it. Drive, don't spin: Let the back hip push forward and down, driving energy from the ground straight through the core into the ball. Keep the base strong: Real power is built from the ground up, not from twisting your shoe. Fix the footwork, fix the swing. ⚾️🔥 #baseball #softball #hitting #coach #viral
