Things that are NOT worth the money in Accra

Things that are NOT worth the money in Accra Hi, my name is Abby. I moved to Ghana in 2024 of November. Um, those are my only credentials, credentials to make this video, okay? I am also fully Ghanaian, both parents Ghanaian. So those are my credentials, okay? These are the things that I do not think are worth it in Accra, Ghana after living here for almost two years. First thing has to be gym memberships. There's no reason in this world where I should be paying over $100. When I say over $100, I mean like over $100, like I'm talking 120, 130, $140 for a monthly membership when the machines aren't new, there's nothing else being offered other than going into a gym and using the machines. There's no sauna, there's no nothing else. It's just a basic gym. That basic gym that I was paying what $10, $15 in the states, not worth it. I'm sorry, it's never going to be worth it to me. I don't care what you say, it's never going to be worth it to me ever. I will be walking up and down the street to going on YouTube and going searching for Pilates before I pay 120, 30, 40, $50 for the gym. That same thing that I would pay what $3, $4 at Walmart? It's just never makes sense to me. So I'm never going to do it. I'm just going to go down the street, I'm going to go to the market or I'm going to go to Melcom and I'm just going to buy whatever like we eat here in Ghana. It's never worth it. The second thing I'm not paying for has to be the grocery stores that are specifically for Europeans and American people. So like you go there and you will find American groceries, like cereal, paper towels, or whatever that you're used to using and buying in the states or in Europe, right? Not worth it. Why am I paying $15 for cereal that I would pay $3, $4 at Walmart? It's just never makes sense to me. So I'm never going to do it. I'm just going to go down the street, I'm going to go to the market or I'm going to go to Melcom and I'm just going to buy whatever like we eat here in Ghana. It's never worth it. The third thing that I do not think is worth the money is skincare. It's not worth the money. You know what's not worth the money? If you live in Ghana, you know what's not worth the money. The same things that we would buy at Ulta, Sephora, Walmart for $5, $10, $15, that same thing is going to be what? Almost $50 here. $30, $40. I'm saying I'm talking $5. You will pay $25 in Ghana. I'm sorry, it's not worth it. I'm not going to wait until somebody either comes to Ghana or I go back to the states to buy it. I will pay that. But everything else is not worth the money.
