Whatnot
Why it worked
The video leverages the "haul" format, which is highly engaging for thrift and vintage communities, while building trust through a personal recommendation of a specific seller.
Summary
The creator showcases a collection of vintage items purchased from a seller named Christina Maria on the Whatnot platform. She highlights specific finds like a kitchen scale, a wall plaque, a wicker shelf, and magnets, while encouraging viewers to check out the seller and share their own favorite Whatnot sellers.
Structure
- 1Introduction to the Whatnot haul
- 2Recommendation of the seller Christina Maria
- 3Showcasing vintage kitchen and decor items
- 4Highlighting the DIY wicker shelf project
- 5Displaying giveaway items
- 6Call to action for seller recommendations
Product placement
Whatnot: (a) ACTS — the creator explicitly states she is doing a "Whatnot haul," shows items purchased through the platform, and encourages viewers to shop on it. Removing it would change the premise of the video. Christina Maria (Theothercm): (a) ACTS — she is the seller on Whatnot whose items are being showcased and recommended. Removing her would change the video's content as she is the source of the haul.
