A Maine Coon kitten in Wisconsin has set a Guinness World Record with 29 toes, surpassing the previous record of 28. Erebus Anomaly was born with polydactyly, a genetic trait that causes extra toes and is relatively common among Maine Coons. His father also has the condition, with six toes on each paw. The kitten developed pneumonia after an aspiration event and required emergency veterinary care, oxygen and medication.
