It’s the tiny details that make this marquise different. 💚 A cathedral setting doesn’t always have to be tall or dramatic. For this 3CT marquise, we made the cathedral tiny and delicate — just enough to gently lift the center diamond and give the ring a more elegant side profile, without making the setting feel bulky. And look closely at where the shoulders rise. Instead of simply connecting the band directly to the center setting, we added two tiny elongated diamond details on each side. I like to call them little diamond shoulder pads. They’re small. They’re subtle. But they completely change the silhouette of the ring. They visually support the marquise from both sides, creating a softer transition from the thin band to the 3CT center stone. The result feels more dimensional than a classic solitaire, but still delicate enough that the marquise remains the absolute focus. And then comes the detail you almost have to search for. 💚 Underneath the center stone, tiny natural emeralds — the client’s birthstone — are hidden within the basket. They aren’t there to make the ring look more expensive. They’re there because they mean something. From the front, you see a classic marquise diamond ring. Turn it slightly, and you notice the tiny cathedral. Look closer, and you find the diamond shoulders. Turn it underneath, and suddenly there are little flashes of green. The closer you look, the more personal it becomes. That’s my favorite kind of custom jewelry.
