PART 2 - redecorating my sister’s house whilst she’s away ✨ And today we're working on the living room which has some really nice features like these stained glass windows, these built-in shelves and this fireplace. And the story that leads into the dining room and this is what it looks like from the other side. It was hard to decide on a colour scheme because she wants to keep her blue sofa and of course the colours in the living room have to go with the colours in the dining room and they have to coordinate. I decided on this mustard colour for the walls and a peachy toned white for the ceiling and then this red for the trim. Now I pissed off my brother-in-law because he was helping me paint and I thought this whole section could be red and then once I saw it I was like, oh my god, I don't like it. And I wasn't gonna say anything and then I was like, no, don't be a people pleaser and just change it, just get it right. So we stuck with the original plan to do just the trim red and the walls yellow, ceiling white. Now top tip, unless you're aiming for like, really, really, really bright saturated colour, I'd always choose a more muted tone than you think you should. Because if we go back to the samples that I did, I selected the colour on the left because I knew once it was in the entire room, it would look a lot more bright. Now it's currently giving ten points to Gryffindor but trust me, once I start bringing in some other colours and pieces, it's really gonna come together. So stay tuned for part three.
