Promoted product

Better Belly

Why it worked

The video uses a relatable 'come with me' shopping vlog format to introduce a new product, making the advertisement feel like a helpful discovery rather than a forced pitch.

Summary

A creator visits Walmart to purchase and review a new dog treat brand called Better Belly. She highlights the ingredients and performs a taste test with her dog, Arlo.

Structure

1Creator introduces the shopping trip
2Locates Better Belly in the pet aisle
3Highlights product ingredients and benefits
4Performs a taste test with her dog
5Final recommendation to purchase at Walmart

Product placement

(a) Better Belly: ACTS; the creator finds it on the shelf, explains its ingredients/benefits, and feeds it to her dog to demonstrate its appeal. Removing it would change the entire video. (b) Walmart: APPEARS; it is the retail location where the product is purchased. Removing it would change the setting but not the product being promoted.
