I recently realized something that really challenged me: Most of us don’t actually want to be rich. We just want to be richer than the people around us. Think about it. We live in a country where most of us have access to things previous generations could only dream about. Yet many of us constantly feel like we don’t have enough. Why? Because the goal keeps moving. You get a better car — then you see someone with a nicer one. You buy a bigger house — then your friend buys an even bigger one. You make more money — but now you want to make more than the people around you. And you never arrive. The enemy wants you to believe that you need more, more, and more just to prove that you’re doing better than everyone else. But Jesus offers something completely different: freedom from the endless race. Jesus said: “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.” — Matthew 6:34, KJV And Proverbs 14:30 says: “A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.” Maybe financial freedom isn’t always about getting more. Maybe sometimes it’s learning to be grateful for what God has already placed in your hands. Don’t trade your freedom in Christ for slavery to comparison. You don’t have to live better than everyone else. You just need to learn how to live faithfully with what God has given you.
