You know these were banned in the United States until like the mid 2000s because they were afraid of the flies and stuff that they could carry or bring, but I guess they're not afraid anymore because I found them at Costco. This, if you don't know, is a mangosteen. And once you crack this open, the inside looks like a garlic bulb, but it's not obviously garlicky at all. It tastes kind of like a strawberry, um, made a baby with a pineapple, made a baby with a peach, but kind of, um, like citrusy in some way too. You can score this, just kind of run a knife around this, um, if you want to, or you can crack it with your hands. And also, they say that if you count the number of petals that are on the underside, you see this one has six. There should be six segments inside of this. This one has five. This one has six. I guess I'm eating two mangosteens. It's also called the queen of fruit, you know. The durian is the king, she is the queen. I've been working out, so let's see if I can do it. Put between my hands like this. Oh, cracked it. And it's so beautiful. Is that not so beautiful? The segments usually have a seed in them. The smaller segments usually don't have a seed. The smaller segments usually don't have a seed. So, um, you can eat around that. It is true. Mmm. So good. Mmm. Mmm. It is true. Mmm. So good. Mmm. Mmm. For science, let's see if this one has the six segments because this one has six little petals on the bottom. Mmm. Oh. It is true. Mmm. So good. Mmm. Mmm. If you're out and about and you see one of these, try it. They're so yummy.
