Popular book talk books I wish I had DNF'd or actually DNF'd. Wild Dark Shore. I wish I had DNF'd. I don't understand what people see in this book. Is the writing good? Yes, the word choice, the description, the imagery. Yeah, certifiedly good. Like, you know when someone's objectively attractive, but you're not attracted to them, or maybe you are, but then they open their mouth and then they start talking and you're like, oh, never mind. That's how I felt about Wild Dark Shore. The vibe was creepy, the characters were all weird, the setting terrified me. Like, there's nothing in this book that I enjoyed. Project Hail Mary. Wish I had DNF'd it. It just wasn't for me. I loved the relationship between Rocky and Ryland, but other than that, not my jam. The Seven Year Slip. Wish I had DNF'd. Boring. That's all I have to say. This is one of my best friends' favorite books and we have gotten into several heated arguments about it. I read all five books because I felt so strongly that I couldn't talk about it unless I had read it. And then I had to reread. Opinion. Not for me. I don't enjoy Liz Tomforde's writing. She has so many fans. She doesn't need me. It's okay. The world is not ending. But I read all of them and looking back on it, I'm like, why did I do that to myself? Into the Blue. Wish I had DNF'd. I'm kind of glad I didn't because when I talk about it, I can really talk about it. I'm someone with a chronic illness. I thought the chronic illness representation was terrible. The sci-fi improv show, whatever, was the hardest hundred pages I've ever had to suffer through in my life. Their relationship was toxic, but not the fun, intriguing kind of toxic. Like, are you okay? No. I did not enjoy it. I'll give it one star. The Unhoneymooners. Love other words is one of my favorite, God tier, flawless books. So I was really excited to read another Christina Lauren novel. And then I did. The same people who wrote Love and Other Words. No way they wrote this. No way. I literally have not read another one since then because I couldn't believe it. So if they wrote another good one that's as good as Love and Other Words, please let me know. They're Going to Love You. I see this way more on Pinterest than I do on book talk. This is very much like a, like a thick midlife identity crisis sort of thing. It's about a girl who her father is dying, but she hasn't been connected with him in very many years. And so she sort of goes back to be with him during this time, when he's about to pass away because she reflects on her whole life, how she got there, where she is now. I was so bored. I just couldn't connect. The Three Graces of Pearl Street. This one isn't book talk popular yet, but it was book of the month book that I read this month. And I read it because I always give books 100 pages before I decide to DNF. And nothing is getting me up to the first 100 pages. I'd put it up for 10 minutes and I'd be like, 10 minutes. This ain't for me. I thought it was so boring. I didn't understand what was happening. This is about three generations of women from an Italian family. All named Grazia. I was so excited to read it. I always give books 100 pages before I decide to DNF. I'd put it up for 10 minutes and I'd be like, 10 minutes. This ain't for me. I thought it was so boring.
