I've blocked my mum to show you this

Keep this a secret won’t you!! Showing her tomorrow, Kev too of course! Ahhh!! This one’s so special!! now she did have a list of demands as long as your arm for her piece, pretty much every element from every painting I’ve ever done 😅 but that’s okay, I think I gave her some traumatic teenage years wayyy back when.. so I owe her one. The colours fade from blue to match a beautiful sofa they both fell in love with (they love a second hand antique bargain find with a story) and the fabric is super patterned and changes in the lights so that’s fun to match I tell you 😅 and then fades to green to match their new walls!! Plastered to within an inch of their life because Kev’s a perfectionist real bad. The sun is shining because that’s just mum, she’s sunshine tbh. She lights up everyone’s life, but the main part, for me, is the two posts in the water to the left.. a safe solid landing place for birds against the tide. Always stable and safe spot to know you can go back too, I hope they understand the symbolism of that. I landed on those posts last year a lot. And then, our Miss boat! Floating about at sea, so mum; so me. We’re scatty and all over the show, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and if there’s something in our hands we will loose it, if it’s not tied down, it’s gone, so the boat is tied to a post before we loose that too 🥹😅😂 Two birds fly into the sun, that’s mum and Kev, about to start a new phase, a more relaxing one I hope now the renovations done, a passion project which I think kinda sucked the life out of them.. but wow they did a great job and soon.. they can rest a bit more and enjoy some holidays This piece is called “where love lives” because when I went through hell and back, I found refuge there… and although they haven’t seen it yet, they did kindly say I could make prints if I wanted to so you’ll have to let me know if you’d like that!!
