The first exercise you see is the incline dumbbell press. And if you’re a man over 50, it should probably be one of the foundation exercises in your program. The fitness industry wants you to believe you need a new workout every week. You don’t. At 59, about 80% of my physique comes from repeating the same 6 “boring” exercises: ✅ 1. Incline Dumbbell Press Builds your upper chest, shoulders, and triceps while being easier on the shoulders than a barbell bench for many men over 50. ✅ 2. Farmer Carries Build grip, core stability, traps, shoulders, conditioning, and real-world strength. ✅ 3. Pull-Ups (or Assisted Pull-Ups) Build your lats, upper back, biceps, grip, and posture. Use bands or an assisted machine if needed. ✅ 4. Goblet Squats A joint-friendly way to build strong legs and glutes while improving mobility and squat mechanics. ✅ 5. Romanian Deadlifts Build your hamstrings, glutes, and lower back while strengthening your posterior chain. ✅ 6. Walking Dead Lunges Build muscle one leg at a time while improving balance and correcting left-to-right imbalances. None of these exercises are flashy. They just work. The secret isn’t variety. It’s progressive overload. Add a rep. Add a little weight. Control the movement better than last week. That’s why I keep my routine in Buffro. I can save these lifts, track my reps and weights, and see if I’m actually progressing instead of constantly changing workouts. Combine that with enough protein and good recovery, and you’ll keep building muscle and staying strong for decades. Want a simple way to track your training and progress? Download Buffro and build your routine today. #gym #HealthyAging #StayStrong #FitnessOver50
