Why do so many lookmaxers have bad hair? I've just been noticing like, follicular, all of these like, ascenders, like the male streamer TikTok world, do not know how to take care of their hair as a makeup artist who works with a lot of male models, obviously their hair has to look polished, but still, undone and masculine. So I want to steer you guys in the right direction. I feel like men get kind of lost in the world of hair care because it becomes really women-focused and that's just a rabbit hole that can be difficult to navigate because men typically have different hair goals and needs than women. When it comes to style and routine. So let me break it down for you. First of all, clean scalp is super important. You want to get yourself a nice clarifying shampoo. And every time you shampoo, you shampoo twice. First wash removes your products, second wash actually cleanses the scalp. This is really important for volume, for going longer between wash days, which is better for your hair health. And it's just more convenient. Because a really good hairstyle should last you at least one to three days. First wash removes your products. Second wash actually cleanses the scalp. Because a really good hairstyle should last you at least one to three days. Number two, try to keep your hair virgin. Don't dye it, don't permit it. Because once you chemically process the hair, the texture is going to change. It might require heat styling. It just makes the hair more high maintenance and it's a big commitment. So if you can keep your hair natural, do that. Because healthier hair always looks better. Number three, everyone should own a blow dryer. This is super important and more important than any leave-in product or shampooer. You want to always blow dry your roots. You can let the length of your hair air dry, but you never want to let the scalp stay wet because that's going to reduce your volume. It'll encourage fungus to grow on the scalp. It'll shorten the amount of time you can go without washing your hair. Next, your number one styling product is water. You want a misting bottle of water. This is great for refreshing the hair day to day. Don't underestimate how nice water can make your hair look. And then styling products. Gels, pomades. Gels are great because they can be firm hold and they're basically creating a scaffold that holds your wet hair into that shape until it air dries or you diffuse it. Whatever. And then you just break up that curl cast by scrunching. So your hair is lightweight still because gels are usually water-based. So if you wake up and your hair is like greasy, stringy hair that needs to be washed, you can just mist it with water to re-soften it up and then reposition your hair how you want it with a comb or your hands. And then it'll kind of dry back into that locked style. If you want like an in-depth tutorial and specific product recommendations along a certain routine, just follow me and drop a comment.
