Yeah, I know I'm wearing iron, but I mean, like, Netherite is legitimately one of the stupidest upgrades in Minecraft history because it adds nothing to the game at the end of the day. When Netherite first came out, right? They marketed Netherite as, like, this upgrade where, oh, man, you know, this armor's so tough, you can go fight God. But you still end up only having 20 armor points. You don't get any more. Only thing you get is, like, extra toughness. And yeah, you may say, oh yeah, but what about the knockback resistance and the extra durability? Those, you mean things you can legitimately get upgraded into your armor by just having potions or books? Oh, yay! It almost as if that's easier to do than strip mine all day long to go find Netherite. And you can bring up, oh, but what about not burning in lava? Is that a good thing? Yeah, but I mean, I can go ahead and make a potion of fire resistance ten times easier than strip mining for Netherite. But not only that, I can excuse all the shortcomings of Netherite if they didn't change how you got the armor in the first place. They made it so now you need a smithing template to go ahead and make Netherite armor, which already requires you to go ahead and get diamond armor to put that template on, which kind of makes no sense. Why can't you just let me directly craft Netherite armor? Why does it have to be, oh, you have to sacrifice diamonds and Netherite to go ahead and get this equipment? That doesn't, it just makes it more annoying. It just makes more sense for you to have diamond armor with mending on it and to have a potion of fire resistance on than to go through all that brouhaha just to get marginally better statistics on your armor? No, I'm not doing it, bro.
