People on Twitter are freaking out comparing Apple and Google Maps went absolutely viral, getting over 15 million views in under 17 hours. But since the comment section could not decide which one is actually better, I did a little bit of time to solve for all. We can all agree that Apple Maps looks absolutely incredible. It uses detailed 3D models, realistic overpasses, lane and it almost looks like you're driving through a video game. However, Google Maps, on the other hand, has better business listings, better reviews, search and historically more reliable traffic information. But when things get really interesting is when you compare these two images next to each other. You'll notice that Apple and Google actually disagree on which route is quickest for the driver. There's a specific reason why and that's because Apple and Google both calculate travel time completely different. That's because Apple Maps relies heavily on current conditions like live traffic flow, reported slowdowns, and how fast your car is actually able to move right now. Well, Google, on the other hand, uses a combination of live traffic information and historical data from millions of past trips. So will you be using Apple Maps or Google Maps moving forward?
