Why it worked

The video leverages a cross-cultural theme, featuring non-Malaysians learning to cook traditional Malaysian food, which appeals to a broad audience interested in cultural exchange and food. The "Merdeka Series" branding also taps into national pride and celebratory themes.

The host explains that her guests, Anna and Jun, are not Malaysian but are there to learn how to cook Nasi Lemak and Onde-onde.
