Did you do that? Yeah, they forgot to put Newfoundland on the map. It's not real. Is that that's the real thing? That's kind of crazy. I mean, they got to do a recall or just make these things like one of ones, you know? If that's really what it is. I don't know. Bananas. What the hell? Why'd they take you out? Oh, yeah. Why did they do that? I will be writing to Hilroy and tell them to take that off the shelf. That's unacceptable. To not be represented on the Canadian map. Oh my god, yes. My mother's from Cape Breton. Wait till I call her. And tell her Cape Breton is no longer part of Canada. She's gonna be pleased. As a new school year approaches, one classroom staple has people in Newfoundland and Labrador demanding answers. A glossy version of Hilroy Canada’s exercise books features a map of Canada, but it's missing Newfoundland and Cape Breton. CBC News spoke with locals who say the omission is 'bananas.' UPDATE (Sept. 1, 2026): Hilroy Canada replied to CBC News after this video was posted. In a statement, they said, 'A printing error on one exercise book cover resulted in an inaccurate map of Canada.' The new design is also featured on the Hilroy website. Hilroy was founded in Toronto in 1918, but since 1994, it's been owned by various US conglomerates. We reached out to Hilroy for an interview but didn't hear back from them. Newfoundland isn't the only one left out. They also forgot Cape Breton. Oh my god, yes. My mother's from Cape Breton. Wait till I call her and tell her Cape Breton is no longer part of Canada. She's gonna be pleased.
