In March 2025 I started asking a simple question. Why is 90% of activewear made from plastic? The answers I got were all the same. Natural fibres can’t perform. Cotton won’t hold shape. Nobody will buy it. 50 manufacturers said no before one said yes. I wasn’t trying to start a trend. I was trying to make something I’d let my four kids wear. This week a major activewear brand launched a cotton blend and called it innovation. Here’s the part that matters. A blend is a number. Anyone can print 88/12 on a swing tag. What takes eight months is the certification behind it, the dye house that will meet OEKO-TEX, the factory that will hold GOTS, the grading so it fits a size 4 and a size 22 properly, and the testing that proves what isn’t in it. So ask them for the paperwork. Ask what’s in the dye. Why because cotton activewear is only one part. We publish ours. I’m not angry.
