I believe we should give to God because Scripture teaches us to give. But we’re often taught how to give money—not how to earn it. Look at Jacob. He worked for his uncle Laban for 14 years to marry Rachel and Leah. But he didn’t do his work carelessly. He worked with excellence and did his job as if he were doing it for God. “Whatever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord…” — Colossians 3:23 (KJV) Be a professional in your field. Do your work with excellence. Give your best—and let the results speak. Jesus said: “the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” — Matthew 11:12 (KJV) Paul said: “Run, that ye may obtain.” — 1 Corinthians 9:24 (KJV) Don’t just work. Work to achieve the result.
