Hidradenitis Suppurativa flares can impact us physically, mentally, and emotionally. 💜 And even when a flare is long gone, sometimes we still carry pieces of that experience with us. There may be scarring left behind, and we may still remember the pain, the exhaustion, the frustration, and just how difficult that time was for us. And on top of navigating HS, there’s life. We’re caring for ourselves and the people we love, building careers, nurturing relationships, raising families, working toward our goals, chasing our dreams, and simply trying to navigate everything that life brings our way. There is so much that we carry, even during the moments when HS is asking so much of us too. When we look at our scars, they can bring back so many different emotions and memories. They can remind us of painful days, difficult moments, and experiences that may still stay with us today. But I hope we can also recognize ourselves within those stories, the version of us that kept going, kept showing up in whatever way we could, and continued navigating life while navigating HS. We had hard days, painful days, exhausting days, and somehow, we continued finding our way forward. Our scars are only one part of everything we’ve lived through, and they could never tell the full story of who we are. We are still growing, still dreaming, still becoming, still loving, still creating, and still making room for joy. 💜 Keep going, keep becoming, and keep making space for the life you deserve to live. ✨💜 #HidradenitisSuppurativa #HSWarrior #HSAwareness #HSCommunity #chronicillness
