Bring Back Introductions!

When did we stop introducing people? This has happened a lot, say, in the last couple years. Example. Like you're someone, another person walks over, starts a conversation, and suddenly you're expected to like a piece of furniture, discuss places and stories you know nothing about. I mean, no introduction, no contact, no attempt to include you. So it's like odd. And this happens everywhere, at dinners, parties, events. Even among supposedly sophisticated people. Introducing people really used to be the most basic of social grace. It said, I see you, you belong here, of course. I'm not going to make you fight your way in. In itself, but people are so consumed with what they know and who they know and wanting themselves talk that they've totally forget someone else is standing right there. Them. Social intelligence isn't room; noticing who is left out of it. So, I know. If you know both people, make the introduction. It takes five seconds, and it tells me everything about your manners.
